Well we had a debate today, the topic: should marijuana be legalized and taxed.
I for one am against this, mainly due to the fact that rather than embrace life, the government would be willing to waste life to make up for lost money over the past years. Although I must admit that it would probably put us in a good economic standing, there is much more than that. As Sabrina said today, the negative side, there are so many more consequences that we should obviously take into consideration. There are horrid consequences that will affect the body in the long term. At what point would people that have less-than-average brain cells due to marijuana, solve our job crisis, with more of these people that would mean that they wouldn't be able to perform daily tasks that must be done at work.
Sure I'm almost positive that this would help our economic situation but based on the direction of our government, even with Obama, it seems that society and government ignores the emotional and physical well-being of the people. The long term effects would ruin almost anyone's life and probably cause someone to start becoming old with these consequences.
